CUSTOM SPROCKET ENGINEERING

Custom Sprocket Engineering & Manufacturing

YZEFY manufactures custom sprockets for OEM machinery, MRO replacement and equipment upgrades. Send a controlled drawing, CAD file, sample, worn part or verified dimensions. Our engineering team reviews the chain interface, tooth geometry, mounting details, material, heat treatment and inspection requirements before production. The process covers technical review, prototype or first article approval, batch manufacture and repeat orders against the confirmed specification.

  • Drawing-based manufacturing
  • Sample and worn-part development
  • Engineering review before production
  • Prototype, small batch and repeat OEM support

01 | DRAWING-BASED MANUFACTURING

Custom Chain Sprockets from Drawings and CAD Data

We manufacture custom chain sprockets from engineering drawings, CAD files and dimensioned specifications. A useful chain sprocket drawing identifies the chain standard and series, tooth count, bore, keyway, hub geometry, material, treatment and critical tolerances. We review the supplied information before quotation and flag missing or conflicting dimensions for confirmation.

  • 2D engineering drawings and controlled revisions
  • CAD files supported by critical dimensions
  • Customer-supplied specifications and dimensional data
  • Custom split sprocket and weld on sprocket designs where required

02 | SAMPLE-BASED DEVELOPMENT

Replacement Sprockets for Obsolete and Worn Parts

When the original drawing is unavailable, a sample, worn part, clear photos and field dimensions can start replacement sprocket development. Wear can alter the tooth form, bore and mounting surfaces, so we do not copy a damaged component from one measurement alone. The review also considers the mating chain, shaft, keyway, hub position, mounting pattern and available installation space.

  • Obsolete or unavailable catalogue parts
  • Worn sprockets and existing assemblies
  • Existing part numbers, equipment references and sample photos
  • MRO replacement and equipment upgrade projects

03 | SPECIFICATION CHECK

Engineering Review for Chain Compatibility and Fit

Before production, we review the chain sprocket specifications that control engagement and installation. The check covers the tooth profile and chain compatibility, then confirms tooth count, bore, keyway, hub configuration and drawing tolerances. For an existing drive, information about the chain, shaft and adjacent components helps resolve details that the sprocket alone may not show.

  • Tooth profile and chain standard or series
  • Tooth count and sprocket arrangement
  • Bore, shaft fit and keyway
  • Hub style, hub length and chain line
  • Critical tolerances, concentricity and runout requirements

04 | MATERIAL AND PROCESS REVIEW

Materials, Heat Treatment and Surface Finish

Material and process requirements are confirmed against the drawing and service conditions. Carbon steel and alloy steel are common options for industrial chain sprockets. Stainless steel and cast iron can also be reviewed when the design or operating environment calls for them. Heat treatment and surface finish are specified by project, with attention to the base material, tooth area, dimensional requirements and any welding or assembly steps.

  • Carbon steel
  • Alloy steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Cast iron
  • Heat treatment to the agreed specification
  • Machined or specified protective surface finish

05 | PRE-PRODUCTION CONFIRMATION

Prototype and First Article Approval

A prototype or first article can be arranged when the project requires approval before batch production. The part is checked against the confirmed drawing and agreed inspection scope. Any approved change is recorded in the working specification so the production order follows the same dimensions, material, treatment and revision.

  • Prototype or approval sample when required
  • Critical dimension and feature confirmation
  • Material, treatment and finish verification to the agreed scope
  • Drawing revision and specification sign-off before production

06 | ORDER PRODUCTION

Small Batch, OEM Production and Repeat Orders

YZEFY supports small batch requirements, drawing-controlled OEM sprockets and repeat production. The confirmed drawing, revision and inspection requirements remain the order reference. For repeat orders, part identification, revision status, quantity, marking and packaging are checked before production so changes do not pass into the order without review.

  • Small batch custom sprockets
  • OEM machinery production parts
  • Repeat orders against a confirmed revision
  • Replacement orders for maintenance programs
  • Defined inspection, marking and packaging requirements
